Description: A grant up to $4,000 is available for improving exteriors, handicap accessibility, and maintenance and energy costs of homes and garages. Properties with no more than four dwellings are eligible. Townhomes, condominiums and cooperative associations are not eligible. There is no income restriction, though applicants with a family income greater than 35% the Minneapolis median income must match their grant on a one-to-one ratio. The grant covers exterior rehabilitation projects on homes or existing garages. Examples of projects include door replacement, structural foundation improvements, window repair, and installing a porch.
