The Logan Park neighborhood is in the center of Northeast Minneapolis and in the heart of the area’s Art District, making it an exciting and creative place to live. The Northrup King Building--home to over 190 tenants including a creative center to over 170 artists and various small business and nonprofit organizations is in the neighborhood—providing residents with year-round opportunities to shop for art, apparel, furniture, and more. Other studio spaces in the neighborhood include the Casket Arts Building, Waterbury Building, Q.arma Building, Solar Arts Building and the Thorpe Building. 40-percent of the neighborhood is residential with larger Victorian homes built around Logan Park—an active green space that is well-used by residents.

Many of the neighborhood’s factories and churches were built in the late 1800s—and soon after immigrants from various parts of Europe and Canada begin settling in the area. The neighborhood’s namesake park was once a Victorian Square dating back to the 1800s and named for Civil War general and U.S. Sen. John A. Logan.

Housing Styles and Types

There is a diverse mix of housing in the neighborhood with larger Victorian-style homes and other smaller wood frame houses. Low-rise rental units—fourplexes and duplexes—can also be found in the neighborhood

Public Facilities

  • Logan Park—Located at Broadway Ave. NE and Monroe St. NE, Logan is a popular neighborhood park. With several athletic fields, it's a great site for league sports, pick-up games or special occasion rentals. Amenities offer something for all ages, from a wading pool for the kids and walking paths ideal for seniors, to picnic areas in the summer and ice rinks in the winter.
