The Lowry Hill East neighborhood is home to some of Minneapolis’ defining areas—the funky shops, arts centers, theaters and restaurants of Lyn-Lake (centered around the intersection of Lake Street and Lyndale Avenues); the retail, dining, nightlife and renowned Art Fair of Uptown (the intersection of Lake and Hennepin is Uptown’s center); and at its northern edge the Walker Art Center and Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. The neighborhood is well-served by transit and is home to the Uptown Transit Center, a hub for many popular bus routes and the Midtown Greenway trail travels through the neighborhood connecting Lowry Hill East to the Chain of Lakes and other destinations to the east. Popular arts venues such as Brave New Workshop, Bryant Lake Bowl Theater, The Jungle Theater, the Soo Visual Arts Center, and the Highpoint Center for Printmaking call the neighborhood home.
