Como is a place of cozy homes, tree-canopied streets and delightful gardens, where people come and decide to stay for generations.

Como is conveniently located: halfway between the University of Minnesota’s St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses and halfway between the two downtowns, with excellent bus connections to both.

Como has a strong environmental ethic and has participated in events such as tree planting, opening new community gardens, organic lawn care, building rain barrels, and a Solar Pilot Project. Most recently Como has been awarded a $120,000 grant to implement a Green Village concept that will focus on green transportation, renewable energy, and stormwater management.

Housing Styles and Types

Como is characterized by diverse and affordable architecture from the 1880s-1950s including homes in the Second Empire, Gothic Revival, Victorian cottages, Arts and Crafts, Tudor cottage styles. A scattering of newer duplexes and single-family homes are also in the neighborhood.
