History

The Lyndale Neighborhood came of age in the early part of the 1900s, as the city expanded south of Lake Street. If you look carefully you can still see where the old street car lines use to run. As you travel down Nicollet Avenue you can learn about neighborhood history through the “Walldogs on Nicollet” murals, which include imagery from Joseph Nicollet and the old Nicollet Ballpark.

Housing Styles and Types

Lyndale has a wide range of homes, condos, and apartments. The majority of the homes are turn of the century homes built between 1900 and 1920 that have been lovingly restored and updated.

“A few of the reasons I love Dayton’s Bluff: eagles building a nest in the tree across the street; the breathtaking views of downtown; immediate access to hiking and biking trails; two minutes to the Farmers Market; eclectic architecture; and engaged and involved neighbors.”

- Julie
