Waite Park is a quiet, urban neighborhood nestled in the corner of Northeast Minneapolis. Saint Anthony Parkway runs along the southern border of the neighborhood and is part of the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway. Waite Park boasts of highly educated, socially responsible and politically active residents that take pride in their neighborhood and their community. With a close proximity to a number of parks and a premier Minneapolis elementary school, Waite Park is a great place to raise a family. Waite Park has diverse housing styles— historic bungalows, mid-century ranch-styles, and more—that are sure to appeal to many different tastes!

History

Waite Park was incorporated into the City of Minneapolis in 1887, but continued to grow and develop through the 1950s. It grew throughout the following decades along Central Avenue and Saint Anthony Parkway, within close proximity to Columbia Park Golf Course. Today, Waite Park is primarily, a residential neighborhood with over 2400 households.

Housing Styles and Types

Waite Park contains a diverse range of housing styles from Craftsman-style homes built in the 1910’s to large 1920’s Bungalows and 1950’s Ranch-style homes. Waite Park has encouraged some new single-family home building in the 21st century as well as maintaining apartment living along Central Avenue.
