Community Neighborhood Housing Services—Mortgage and Assistance ProgramsDescription: Community NHS offers several mortgage and down payment assistance products. Each program has unique funding terms and eligibility requirements. Click here to read more about the programs. Rondo Community Land Trust—Homebuyer Initiated Program (HIP) Purchase Price Write Down GrantDescription: HIP is a homeownership program for low-to-moderate income households. Through HIP, participating households receive two grants, each for up to $25,000, to help them purchase and then rehab a home that is available on the open real estate market in Ramsey County. The grants are used to reduce the amount a household needs to purchase a home, and to ensure that the home purchased is structurally and mechanically safe and sound. HIP provides $15,000 to $25,000 in grant money to write down the purchase price of a house currently for sale in Ramsey County. Program proves a loan up to $15,000 to purchase a home in Saint Paul in conjunction with the Take Credit!! Mortgage Certificate Program. Loans may be used toward up to 50% of the closing costs, covering closing costs, and/or lowering the principal of the mortgage. Loans carry 0% interest, no monthly payments, repayable at sale of home, or forgivable if borrower resides in home for 10 years or longer. Income limits apply. Must be first-time homebuyer.
