Windom Park No Cost Home Repair Program (Windom Park neighborhood) PDF Print E-mail

Description: Windom Park Citizens in Action (WPCiA) and Rebuilding Together Twin Cities (RTTC) are seeking qualified homeowners for no-cost home repair. Deadline to apply for spring 2010 home rehab work is Nov. 15.

RTTC, a non-profit home renovation organization, selected Windom Park to be its target community for 2010, with a goal of repairing 15-20 homes plus completing a community beautification project. RTTC provides no-cost home renovations for qualified homeowners. The renovations are performed by teams of volunteers focusing around one Saturday in the spring and one Saturday in the fall each year. (Deadline for fall 2010 home applications is March 15, 2010.)

Homeowners who are age 55 and up, or who are living with a disability, or who have children under age 18 in the home are eligible to apply. Household income must be at or below 50 percent of the Twin Cities median. (That translates to $29,350 annual Adjusted Gross Income for one person, $33,550 for two, $37,750 for three, etc.)

For more information on how to apply or volunteer, as well as to obtain an application packet, contact Rebuilding Together Twin Cities at (651) 776-4273 or WPCiA at (612) 788-2192. Application packets are also available at the WPCiA office at 2314 Lowry Ave. NE, Minneapolis, during open hours and at the organization’s community meeting on the third Tuesday of each month.

“A few of the reasons I love Dayton’s Bluff: eagles building a nest in the tree across the street; the breathtaking views of downtown; immediate access to hiking and biking trails; two minutes to the Farmers Market; eclectic architecture; and engaged and involved neighbors.”
